The Berners Barnwell Sams House
Located on New Street in the Historic Old Point of Beaufort, this 1812 town home built by plantation owner Dr. Sams is full of Antebellum charm and rich with history. During the War Between the States, this home was seized by Union forces as a hospital for runaway slaves, and was inhabited by Clara Barton and Harriet Tubman.
We were hired in March 2010 to do a range of minor and major renovations in almost every room in the main house and guest house, and extensive exterior work. The projects included:
Re-roofing both structures
Replacing damaged siding and exterior trim
Re-decking front porch
